Meeting Our Visitors
Spending Time with a Visitor
Estimated time: 10 - 15 minutes
For Parents
Before you begin....
This week isn't about teaching your child how to control their feelings.
It is about helping them notice that feelings visit all of us.
Some feelings stay for a few seconds. Some stay for longer.
None of them are "good" or "bad" - they're simply visitors.
Today you'll solve four little emotional mysteries together.
There are no right or wrong answers. Simply stay curious.
Mystery 1
Mystery 2
Mystery 3
Imagine you arrive at your friend's birthday party. Your friend keeps playing with everyone else
and doesn't talk to you.
Which feeling do you think visited?
Happy.
Angry.
Confused.
Hurt.
Something else?
Ask: What made you choose that one?
Imagine someone gives you a surprise gift. You open it....It's exactly the toy
or book you've been wishing for!
Which feeling do you think visited?
Excited
Happy.
Surprised.
Loved.
Something else?
Ask: What made you choose that one?
Imagine you've been waiting all day to
eat your favourite ice cream.
Just as you're about to take the first bite....
Oops! It falls on the ground.
Which feeling do you think visited?
Happy.
Angry.
Confused.
Hurt.
Something else?
Ask: What made you choose that one?
Today's Story
Buzz smiled.
"Last week we met lots of visitors."
"But I realised something..."
"I know what they look like..."
"I don't really know them yet."
"Will you help me spend some time with my visitor today?"

Today's Exploration
🌟 Wonder Questions
💛 If your visitor came home today, where would it choose to sit?
💛 Would your visitor like a hug... or some quiet space?
💛 If your visitor could say just one sentence, what would it say?
💛 How would your visitor move?
(Would it run, float, stomp, tiptoe or curl up?)
💛 What do you think your visitor enjoys most?
Would your visitor be tiny, or fill the whole room?
Let your child draw, paint or build their visitor in any way they like.
Take turns answering the Wonder Questions together. Your child will learn just as much from hearing your answers as from sharing their own.
There are no right or wrong answers. If your child surprises you, simply smile, stay curious, and ask,
"Tell me more."
